    In June 2009, UNAMA challenged the international community to increase the value of their local procurement by 10% over one year. PDT supported this challenge and colunteered to track local procurement of 22 participating international buyers between June 2009 and June 2010. We were able to track $638 million dollars worth of goods and services that were bought in the local marketplace!

    The Goldman Sachs' 10,000 Women initiative aims to provide 10,000 underserved women around the globe with a business and management education. They believe that investing in women has a significant multiplier effect, and their initiative is designed to foster shared economic growth. Their program in Afghanistan opens doors for women entrepreneurs who would not otherwise have access to a business education.

    The Afghan-American Chamber of Commerce (AACC) is the leading organization facilitating U.S.-Afghanistan business, investment, and trade ties through its matchmaking conferences, networking events, seminars and publications. AACC advocates for a free and open market economy in Afghanistan, and endeavors to strengthen U.S.-Afghan economic relations.

    AACC is a growing national organization, bringing together companies, organizations, and individuals with a stake in helping Afghanistan succeed and developing opportunities in an emerging economy. AACC works to ensure that Afghanistan’s market economy remains a priority for U.S. and Afghan policymakers. It serves as a link between the private sector and government to encourage economic policies that result in increased business and investment between the U.S. and Afghanistan. AACC seeks to reduce the impediments to business and market economic progress through it Working Groups.

Working in cooperation, ACCI and Peace Dividend Trust (PDT) in Afghanistan can create increased sustainability of Afghan businesses, and internationally promote the quality, dedication, and diversity of local businesses

The organization works to create sustainable enterprise development, particularly for SMBs by providing quality services to investors, facilitating cross border partnerships, advocating business enabling measures and reforms, and by promoting Afghanistan as an attractive business and investment destination.

    Bpeace

    Bpeace is a non-profit network of business professionals that volunteer their skills to entrepreneurs. This helps to create jobs and expand economic power. Their goal is to create one million jobs across 1,000 communities, which is executed through their Fast Runners program. In Afghanistan Bpeace helps its Fast Runners grow their businesses, who in turn sustain their families, boost local purchasing power and strengthen other local businesses, creating a cycle of employment.

    Export Promotion Agency of Afghanistan

    The Export Promotion Agency of Afghanistan (EPAA) is an executive branch of the Ministry of Commerce and Industries of Afghanistan and has a special mandate to create a persuasive environment for the production and export of goods from Afghanistan. EPAA provides a platform in which exporters can easily access information, facilities and services needed to produce quality and price-competitive products in Afghanistan for global export. PDT supports EPAA’s initiatives, and will provide further support for Afghan companies to reach international procurement entities in Afghanistan.

  • The Helmand Business Association

    Formerly known as the Bost Business Association, the Helmand Business Association (HBA) is well respected within the Helmandi business community. The HBA’s mission is to help solve local business’s problems with the government and international buyers. As such, the HBA is the lone organization that has a physical presence in Lashkar Gah and advocates for and serves the private sector.
